OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is an engineered wood product made from strands (large flakes) of wood that are oriented in specific directions and then bonded together with adhesives under heat and pressure. The result is a strong, durable board that is commonly used in construction for sheathing in walls, floors, and roofs.
OSB is an alternative to plywood and is generally less expensive, though it can be more susceptible to moisture damage if not properly sealed. The strands are typically made from fast-growing trees like pine, aspen, or poplar, which makes OSB a more sustainable choice compared to some other materials.
